The highly awaited event of this school year has finally come. The Matilda L. Bradford Christian School celebrates its 28th Founding Anniversary and Intramurals starting February 11 - 16, 2024. The faculty and staff together with the Board of Trustees led the MLBCSI Sunday at United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP) - Bradford on February 11, 2024.

On Monday, February 12, all the learners geared themselves up for the opening of the school’s 28th Founding Anniversary and Intramurals. The event started with a chapel hour in thanksgiving to the Lord for another year, in which Mrs. Eva Saldariega, Mrs. Love C. Flores, Mrs. Aimee Codeniera, and Ms. Joy Aileen Cataluña were also awarded for their years of service to the institution. After the chapel hour, the learners lined up for the parade along Osmeña Boulevard to F. Ramos towards Arlington Pond and back to the school campus.

As everyone arrived at school, a ceremony was held to officially begin Intramurals week, wherein Mr. Louie Antonio Libarios, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, officially opened the Intramurals 2024. Then, it was followed by a field demonstration in the elementary category and dance palabas in high school.

On the second day, there was a search for Mr. and Ms. Intramurals, with a singing competition as an intermission participated by the high school students. While the event was ongoing, the Japanese volunteer, Ms. Chihiro Terauchi, arrived. She was welcomed warmly by the students, teachers, and staff. As everyone nervously waited for the result, some students sang a melodic song.

Mr. Derick Renan Rojo from the senior high school department and Ms. Sande Nicole Hubilla from grade 9 bagged the award for Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2024 High School Category. While Mr. Charles Nathan Denuyo and Ms. Maria Claire Mendoza won for the higher elementary category, Mr. Gabriel Kristoff Vergara and Ms. Quinn Ryleigh Ioanna B. Gacayan won for the lower elementary category. Mr. Pierre Jordan T. Rodriguez and Ms. Bella Mathea B. Selle also garnered the Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2024 for the preschool department.

The following days were full of activities, fun, and excitement while the students had their corresponding tasks and duties, from facilitating booths to competing in respective sports. The high school learners competed in sports like basketball, volleyball, badminton, chess, and scrabble, while the lower grades participated in parlor games and booths. Their enthusiasm and dedication were visible in their performances both in individual and team competitions.

The weeklong event ended with an awarding ceremony where everyone had their share of victory, not only in the games but also in the success of the entire program and activity. It was truly a memorable event, full of triumph and joy.
