A Soulful Harmony of Prayers to Concert: The Road to UCCP Bradford's Main Sanctuary Restoration
UCCP Bradford’s “Huni sa Grasya ug Gugma” concert for a cause was held last February 24, 2024, at 6:00 pm at the IEC Convention Center. This was made for the restoration of UCCP Bradford Main Sanctuary.
The concert featured other performers who offered their talents and sang with their hearts full. Cebu’s pride, Mr. Sal Malaki, a renowned Filipino-American tenor of the Los Angeles Opera and Los Angeles Master Chorale, was present.
The concert started with an opening prayer, followed by the Pambansang Awit. Mr. David Aurio made a welcome address for the audience, followed by Reverend Father Alberto Cabag’s inspirational message that warmed the crowds.
There was a splendid transition in the execution of diverse performances, especially in the choirs and San Carlos College Seminary’s dance. The audience could see the organizers’ dedication to making the ambiance well, from the voiceover to the musicians.
As per Daniela Sabanpan, an audience, “The performances were moving. You could see the passion and unity among the people behind and in the concert.”
Everyone was awed by how beautiful the clothes and voices were. They were all well-toned. The singers performed with voice clarity and presented astounding performances. They were able to convey emotions and stirred the hearts of many.
Jake Batiancela’s “Who Am I” cover touched the audience’s spirits and made some sing-alongs. It somehow made a string of connections to what the audience felt, bringing up certain emotions.
For Ms. Shean Ecoy, “The song opened many old memories and was really special. The singer’s performance also brought up a lot of feelings within me. It was beautiful.”
The applause thundered more when Mr. Sal Malaki entered the stage. The techniques and way of belting his voice showed how experienced he was. His performances made the audience chill and were undeniably incredible. With his soul-touching performance, he truly is an expert in the music industry!
The program ended with all performers singing “I Will Sing Forever” and by Rev. David Estoye’s closing prayer. These performances were a testament to how much effort the UCCP Bradford gave in its Main Sanctuary’s restoration. The funds gained in the concert will help propose the maximization of the Main Sanctuary Repair and Development Project. Currently, the Main Sanctuary is recommended for a general repair of the roof and ceiling.
