The Gymnasium Heats Up as the Elementary Boy's Badminton Championship Game Takes Place
February 14th, the day the elementary boys’ badminton took place. After winning the semi-finals, both Nathan Quinapondan from the Grade 6 and Karlisle from the Grade 5 fought in the championship game.
The game was held at the school buildings’ fifth floor. After much preparation, the first set of the game finally began. Both players started the game with a smile on their faces, presenting a show of sportsmanship on the court. With a 5-point difference, Nathan took the win for the first set of the game, ending it with a score of 21:16. For the second set of the game, tension started to arise in the court. The smile from both the players’ faces slowly fading away. It was a close call but Nathan proved himself to be the winner for the second set of the game.
Karlisle Elnar was unfortunately not able to pass the shuttlecock to the opposite side of the court. This ended the second set of the game with a score of 21:18, and concluded the elementary boys’ badminton championship game.
In an interview with the winner Nathan, he said that Karlisle was not an easy opponent to beat. He also added that during the game, he was scared of the chances of him tripping. Despite the things he said, he was crowned as the boys badminton champion for the Intramurals 2024.
